Patrice Boyes is a Florida-based artist whose works delve into the intricate relationship between the natural and built environment. Using a variety of media, including painting, graphite and charcoal, she explores the way in which humans impact and are influenced by their surroundings. Through her pieces, Boyes aims to bring attention to the fragility of our planet and the constant transformation of our living spaces. Her work is characterized by a meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for capturing the essence of the natural world. STUDIES

Patrice Boyes studied art privately from age 6 through high school, later studying under Dennis Akin at Dickinson College in the mid-1970s. A former journalist (M.A., University of Michigan, 1981) at newspapers in the Northeast and Florida, Patrice Boyes earned a law degree (J.D., University of Florida, 1991), practiced in her own firm for 33 years and is now a partner at the Stearns Weaver Miller law firm in Tampa, Florida. She was inducted in 2022 as a signature member of NAWA, the National Association of Women Artists, an organization founded in New York City in 1889 to promote women artists. She serves as Editor of NOW, the national arts magazine published online by NAWA, and as a board member of NAWA's Florida Chapter.
